Mackenzie District Council – our community, our place, our future.
At Mackenzie District Council we work together as a team to deliver the best outcomes for our district. We are crafting new ways of working together, and each one of us has an essential role in making our district the best place to live, work and play.
There’s lots happening at the Mackenzie District Council! We are on an exciting journey, and we now have a new and exciting role available within Team Mack - Regulatory and Compliance Officer. This is a role where you can really make a difference.
As our Regulatory and Compliance Officer you’ll be responsible for administering, investigating complaints related to Councils regulatory responsibilities under relevant bylaws and Acts, including responding to animal and noise compliance issues within the Mackenzie District. The role seeks to maximise compliance from the adverse effects of issues covered by our obligations such as food, health, liquor, camping, animals and noise, whilst promoting public safety under relevant legislation and bylaws. The role will also support and carry out consent monitoring under the Resource Management Act 1991.
Ideally you’ll have two years of proven experience working in an administrative / enforcement role within a regulatory environment as well as a working knowledge of health / dog / noise / camping and liquor acts.
You’ll have strong administration and customer service qualities and be able to work with a wide range of people. Not only that but you will be a natural relationship-builder who can work across all levels within the organisation and with a range of external stakeholders and contractors. The ability to prioritise and juggle multiple demands are critical. Make sure you check out the position description for this role.
You will predominately be based out of our Fairlie office; however, you’ll need to be able to travel and work out of our Twizel office on a regular basis so a clean, full driver’s license is essential. It is a full time role working 40 hours per week and there may be some after hours / on call work so flexibility is a must.
Application close, 9am, Monday 10th October 2022.
