Community Facilities Officer

About the Role (permanent, part time - 25 hours per week)
We are looking for a Community Facilities Officer to manage the Twizel Events Centre (TEC) and other community facilities in the Pukaki ward, including pensioner flats. This role is essential in ensuring facilities are run efficiently while being a safe and functional space for the community to use.
With managing the Twizel Event Centre being the core aspect of this role, you will be the main contact for the community to get in touch with regarding anything TEC related which means building strong relationships with users, stakeholders, tenants, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Oversee all maintenance, cleaning and minor works in the TEC and Twizel pensioner flats.
- Liaise with public and community groups and actively support localism, sustainability, and new user initiatives in the TEC.
- Develop, implement, and manage a facility maintenance programme in liaison with the Public Facilities, Parks, and Places (PFPP) Manager.
- Manage local events at the TEC, working closely with the Compliance and Regulatory, Engineering and Planning Teams.
- Develop and maintain functional and positive relationships with regular hirers, customers, lessees, community members and contractors etc.
- Assist the PFPP team with tasks in the Pukaki Ward where required.
About You
You will have a keen interest in your community and providing exceptional service and support to all stakeholders. You will also have some or all of the following:
- 5 years’ experience working in or managing facilities, and working with community groups (preferable)
- Experience with basic practical maintenance and repair skills
- Proven experience in managing budgets
- Project management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Full, valid drivers’ licence
