About the Role
We are looking for a Three Waters Operations Engineer to join our Waters team at Mackenzie District Council. With recently bringing water operations inhouse, we are expanding the team and bring in an experienced and enthusiastic engineer to provide exceptional water services to the community.
This role is responsible for the on-ground delivery of Three Water services to the Mackenzie District. Through the application of industry specific knowledge, experience, and technical skills, the Three Waters Operations Engineer will be responsible for network and facility performance as well as delivery of quality Three Water services.
This role will also provide day-to-day management, guidance, and direction to Three Waters service delivery staff.
Other responsibilities include:
- Providing guidance and mentorship to the Three Waters service delivery team
- Drive performance improvements across Three Waters networks and facilities.
- Identify, prioritise, and deliver improvement and renewal works within approved budgets.
- Apply technical expertise to implement Water Safety Plans and environmental compliance improvements.
- Coordinate contingency and emergency response activities.
- Work alongside field staff to deliver high-quality outcomes for our communities.
- Provide excellent customer and stakeholder service, from enquiries to on-site engagement.
About You
You will have:
- At least 5 years’ experience working on Three Waters projects and operations
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent tertiary level qualification
- Understanding of NZS3910 and Health and Safety Legislations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence in interacting with MDC clients, contractors, and stakeholders
- A valid, full drivers’ licence
